Today, I’m going to introduce a very trendy activity called “CouchSurfing”. What is it exactly ?

CouchSurfing logoThis expression recently appeared thanks to the openning of a new service nammed as the CouchSurfing project. Created in 2004, it a non-profit association, which aims at helping travelers from all around the world to meet each others. More precisely, it gives the globetrotter an opportunity to offer a couch (or a bed,…something that allow you to sleep !) for one or several days to another people travelling around. L’écho…à la sauce australienne

Written by Romain on Monday, 23 of June 2008 at 18:25

Here is her blog’s name ! Few weeks after Thomas’s interview, here is a new blog selection. Recently, I discovered Bénédicte’s blog, a young french girl who left France to spend a full year in Australia with her boyfriend, thanks to the Australian working holyday program.

What an opportunity to learn more about this huge country (more than 15 times the size of France) ! I was firstly seduced by the design of her blog, and I then decided to learn more about her. Bénédicte finally answered to my questions using the Seesmic service. Interview. (Read more…)

Where the hell is Matt ?

Written by Romain on Friday, 20 of June 2008 at 23:25

Few months ago, I discovered the amazing adventure of Matt, an american who just can’t stop travelling. I already spoke about him on my professional blog, this man is a real God for a lot of globetrotters (don’t say you are not envy him, I won’t believe you) and I’m really admiring him. Moreover, you can notive that I used his background image for my blog.

This afternoon, Matt made his readers a surprise while uploading his new video for 2008. Stronger in emotions than the previous one, and you just couldn’t fail to be impressed …

The video space is available

Written by Romain on Friday, 13 of June 2008 at 16:27

Here is finally a video space for the trip. I asked myself for a long time which were the best services to use in terms of video hosting. I’ve tested Viddler, Viméo, YouTube, Seesmic (test coming soon), but I finally chose Dailymotion, because I’m using it for almost 3 years now and I’ve never experienced any problems.

I’m feeling also very interested in the strong community spirit of Dailymotion, in the way that it could be very useful to promote my project. A very small number of videos will be uploaded before the beginning of the trip, but the heading is operational from now.

You can watch the videos while clicking here or even through the sidebar’s button.

The project presentation on Seesmic

Written by Romain on Wednesday, 11 of June 2008 at 10:00

Seesmic is a very cool service that allow you to direcly record online a video through your webcam. Maybe are you already thinking : “But YouTube can do it” ! True, but Seesmic also allows you to start video conversions, in the sense that people are able to post answers in the same way. Therefore, I’m strongly thinking of use this service all along my trip !

About me

I'm a 22 years old student, currently attending an MBA program in Paris, and who is preparing for a 12 months trip around the world. The purpose of this travel is to fully comprehend the international environment by looking through different people’s eyes. Together we will be learning about each countries values and beliefs, fears and dreams, worries and concerns through pictures, people’s stories and my experiences. Hopefully, this will bring a new point of view, a new perspective over the world’s view.
