Second vaccinations done

After some huge problems with my laptop these times, here am I back again to speak about new vaccinations I’ve recently done. One week ago, I went back to the Pasteur Institute for two more injections : one for the yellow-fever and another one for infectious hepatitis.
If you’re planning a world tour trip (and especially if you’re going in Africa or even intertropical America), a vaccination against yellow-fever is critical and must be done !
First of all, yallow-fever(also called yellow jack, black vomit or sometimes American Plague) is an acute viral disease, which is transmitted from monkeys to monkeys by some mosquitos, which are responsible for the virus propagation. Once you’ve been bitten by one of them, the “urban form” of the disease, which is dreadful and very epidemic, hits you. As a consequence, it’s very important to prevent such problems by getting all you vaccinations done before the beginning og your trip. Otherwise, it could lead to repatriation (and it could even be worse…). One injection costs 33 € in France.
To learn more about the yellow-fever disease, feel free:
- to visit the Wikipédia page
- to download the fact sheet about the yellow-fever made by the USA Departmen of Health
Then, what about the Hepatitis A (formely known as infectious hepatitis) ? A vaccination against the Hepatitis A aims to prevent a leaver disease. The virus is mainly transmitted to consumption of water and foods that have been infected by faeces containing the virus. Therefore, it’s very important to have a perfect hygiene while you’re cooking, and also when you’re drinking water (always prefer mineral bottles of water). Vaccination for Hepatitis A must be done every ten years as a booster shot. Moreover, to get this vaccination is strongly recommended to people who are leaving for endemic zones, such as Africa, Estearn Europe, Asia or even South America.

One more thing to add is that laps of time between each vaccinations must be strongly respected, in order to make them more efficient. In my cas, I couldn’t be on time for the second vaccination of Tick-born Encephalitis, which leds to reschedule the start of some other vaccinations. My second apointment was planned on the 10 of July but I finally couldn’t attend due to my busy agenda. I’ll probably go there the 15 of July…
