And what about visas ?

Written by Romain on Sunday, 2 of November 2008 at 19:42

Some news about my visas…I’m supposed to have a lot of forms to fill but I realized I will be able to ask most of them during the trip (make sure you bring some pictures of you).According to some globetrotters, it costs less and everything can be done easily (especially in the following countries : Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaisia) . Be carreful with these 3 others : India, China and Russia. I’m still looking for some informations about them, in order to know if it’s possible to get visas from a ambassady (if i apply for these visas right now, they won’t be valid anymore when I’ll need them). About Russia, I can now confirm that it is possible to ask for a via in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) for 100 dollars (price that is including the visa and the voucher), but I’ll have to justify my health insurance and hotel or hostel reservation. I’ll deal with LegendTour since the office is in Mongolia. About Chinese and Indian ambassadies, this is a real nightmare to get the right person on the phone..

But I would like to thank a lot some really important people who helped me to realize it. Therefore, many thanks to Nicolas, Emmanuel, Guillaume for their precious advices. Thanks to Séb of course, but also to Jean-Baptiste. And one keeps the best for the end : Tina for her wonderful help in the spanish traduction process.

D-50

Written by Romain on Sunday, 12 of October 2008 at 20:31

50 days before leaving, things start to become really "hot" ! Most of the people I see in my everyday life ask me the same question: "Aren’t you stressed ?". And I must admit : Yes, I am. 9 months ago, it was quite "easy" to start this project, since i had a lot of time to prepare it. Currently, I have a lot of things to deal with, almost all the equipment to buy and to promote the project as best as possible. But most of all, I need to see you all. Because I will really miss you all during my trip. I would like to thank all of my friends for their support in the difficult times I’m facing. Friendship is a key value for me so thank you for everything.

International blog

Written by Romain on Monday, 29 of September 2008 at 11:18

While looking at the blog’s statistics, I recently noticed that the blog got more than 12 000 unique visitors from 89 different countries. This is a great reward for me since i really spent (and still spending !) a lot of time building english and spanish versions. Once again, thank you for your support.

And you, where are you coming from ?

Romain World Tour on Adwords

Written by Romain on Saturday, 27 of September 2008 at 10:44

Few days ago, Google launched a promotional campaign for Adwords, while offering 100 € of credit to owners of an Analytics account who are not yet subscribed to the advertisement PPP (Pay per click) service. I did not hesitate and was really interested in using Adwords as a very original way to communicate and to advertize the project. As a consequence, here is the advertisement that you could find one day if you’re looking for informations about travelling around the world on Google…

About me

I'm a 26 years old young graduate, living in Lyon, France and who traveled 12 months around the world. The purpose of this travel was to fully comprehend the international environment by looking through different people’s eyes. Together we will be learning about each countries values and beliefs, fears and dreams, worries and concerns through pictures, people’s stories and my experiences. Hopefully, this will bring a new point of view, a new perspective over the world’s view. About me
